Privacy Policy
Last updated September 6, 2026
This policy explains what GoochieGoo LLC collects when you use GoochieGoo, why we collect it, who else ever sees it, and how you get it back or get rid of it. We have tried to write it in the same plain language we use everywhere else in the app. Where a sentence has to be precise, we have chosen precise over short.
It applies to the GoochieGoo mobile app on iOS and Android, and to this website at goochiegoo.app.
1. Who We Are
GoochieGoo is operated by GoochieGoo LLC, being confirmed. For anything in this policy, including a request about your data, write to privacy@goochiegoo.app and a person will answer you.
For the purposes of the UK and EU GDPR, GoochieGoo LLC is the data controller for the information described here.
2. Who GoochieGoo Is For
GoochieGoo is built for parents and legal guardians, and you must be at least 18 years old to create an account. The app has no child-facing surface: there is no login a child uses, no content aimed at a child, and nothing a child operates.
The information in the app is largely about an infant, but it is provided by that infant's parent or guardian. That distinction matters legally. GoochieGoo is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child. If you believe a child has created an account, write to privacy@goochiegoo.app and we will delete it.
3. What We Collect
Everything in this section comes from you, directly, as you use the app. There is no hidden collection, nothing gathered in the background, and nothing that arrives from a third party about you.
3.1 Your account
- Your email address and password, held by our authentication provider. We never see your password in readable form.
- Your name, and the name you give your household.
- The answers you give in the short setup quiz about the topics you want help with.
3.2 Your baby's profile
- Your baby's name, date of birth, time of birth and sex.
- Their feeding style, and the accent colour you pick for them.
- Any weight you record.
3.3 What you log
- Feeds, including nursing, bottles, pumping and solids.
- Diaper changes, sleep and naps.
- Milestones, along with any caption or custom title you write for one.
- Notes and any other free text you type into an entry.
- Names of foods you add.
Where more than one caregiver uses the same household, each entry records which caregiver made it.
3.4 Photos
Photos you upload of your baby, and photos you attach to a milestone. These are stored in a private area that only your household can read. They are not public, not indexed, and not readable by another GoochieGoo family.
3.5 Your pediatrician's details
If you fill in the pediatrician section, we store the practice name, the doctor's name, up to two phone numbers and the practice address. This is the only information in GoochieGoo about a person who is neither you nor your baby. We store it so that it is in your hand at 3am. We do not contact your pediatrician, and we do not use these details for anything else.
3.6 Your device
- A push notification token for each device you sign in on, and whether that device is an iPhone or an Android phone. This is what lets a reminder reach you. It is deleted when you sign out and when you delete your account.
- A record of which reminders we have already sent you, so that we do not send the same one twice.
Your device's language setting is read on the device to decide whether to show you English or Spanish. It is never transmitted to us.
4. What We Do Not Collect
This list is not aspirational. None of these are present in the app in any form.
- No location, precise or approximate.
- No contacts, calendar, or microphone access, and no access to your camera roll beyond the photos you explicitly pick.
- No health data from Apple Health or Google Fit, and no HealthKit entitlement.
- No browsing history, search history or usage analytics.
- No payment or financial information.
- No advertising identifier. There is no IDFA, no advertising SDK, no attribution SDK and no App Tracking Transparency prompt, because there is nothing to track.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDK of any kind.
5. How We Use What We Collect
- To run the app for you: to show your baby's profile, history and photos back to you.
- To tailor Goochie's guidance. Your baby's date of birth is what makes a sleep or feeding suggestion appropriate for their age rather than generic.
- To send the reminders and nudges you have turned on.
- To keep your household's data separated from every other household's, and to investigate a problem when you report one.
- To meet a legal obligation, where one applies.
We do not use your information to build a profile of you, to target advertising, or to train a general-purpose AI model on your family's records.
6. Our Legal Bases, If You Are in the UK or EEA
- Performing our contract with you: everything necessary to give you the app you signed up for.
- Your consent: push notifications, and access to your photo library. You can withdraw either at any time in your device settings.
- Our legitimate interests: keeping the service secure and working, and preventing abuse.
Because your baby's health-related records are a special category of data under the GDPR, we rely on your explicit consent to process them, given when you create your baby's profile. You can withdraw that consent by deleting the profile or the account.
7. Who Else Sees It
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We have never done either, and we do not have a business model that would want to.
A small number of service providers process data on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect it and to use it only as we instruct:
- Our cloud platform, which hosts the database, the file storage and the sign-in system. Your data lives in our own project there, isolated per household by access rules enforced in the database itself.
- Apple's and Google's push notification services, which deliver a notification to your device. They receive the delivery token and the notification, not your records.
We also disclose information where the law requires it — a valid subpoena, court order or similar — or where it is necessary to protect someone's safety. If we are ever bought or merged, your information may transfer with the business, and this policy continues to apply until we tell you otherwise.
8. Your Village
When you invite someone into your Village, they can see and add to the records you share with them, within the permissions you set. You choose who that is; we do not suggest or add anyone.
Removing someone from your Village ends their access immediately. Entries they already made stay in your baby's history, attributed to them, because removing those would leave gaps in a record you may need.
9. Goochie's Suggestions
Some of Goochie's guidance is prepared with the help of an AI service. Where that happens, the only thing that leaves our systems is a small set of de-identified numbers and fixed labels: your baby's age in weeks, counts of feeds or sleeps, and short pattern codes that we define ourselves.
No name, no email, no account identifier, no timestamp, no photograph, no note and no free text you have typed is ever included, and the payload is validated on our own servers before it is sent so that it cannot be. The AI service receives nothing that could identify you or your baby.
If we ever build a feature where that stops being true — a chat where you type in your own words, for example — we will update this policy and tell you before it ships.
10. Where Your Data Lives, and How It Is Protected
Your data is stored on servers in the United States. If you are in the UK or the EEA, that means your information is transferred outside your country; we rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses with our provider for that transfer.
The protections in place: encryption in transit and at rest, per-household access rules enforced by the database rather than only by the app, a private storage area for photos, and access limited to the few people who need it to operate the service.
No system is perfectly secure, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you and the relevant regulator as the law requires.
11. How Long We Keep It
We keep your family's information for as long as your account exists, because it is the record you came here to build.
When you delete your account, deletion begins immediately, and your baby's profile, photos, logs and your account are removed from our live systems within 30 days. Encrypted backups are kept on a rolling schedule and expire on their own; data in a backup is never restored to the live service after a deletion request.
We may keep a minimal record that a deletion happened, and anything a law requires us to retain, such as a tax record.
12. Your Rights
Wherever you live, you can:
- See what we hold about you, and get a copy you can take elsewhere.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your account and everything in it.
- Turn off notifications, and withdraw photo access.
If you are in California, you also have the right to know the categories of personal information we collect, to request deletion or correction, to know whether we sell or share it — we do not — and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is no opt-out for us to offer you.
If you are in the UK or EEA, you also have the right to object to or restrict processing, the right to data portability, and the right to complain to your data protection authority.
To exercise any of these, use Settings in the app or write to privacy@goochiegoo.app. We will answer within the time the law allows, and we may need to confirm your identity first — usually just a reply from the email address on the account.
13. Deleting Your Account
Open the app and go to Settings, then Account, then Delete account. It is a permanent deletion, not a deactivation.
If you cannot sign in, email privacy@goochiegoo.app from the address on the account and we will do it for you. There is more detail, including exactly what is removed, at goochiegoo.app/delete-account.
14. This Website
goochiegoo.app sets no cookies, runs no analytics and embeds no third-party tracker. Our host keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, to keep the site up and secure.
15. Changes to This Policy
If we change something that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use GoochieGoo after that means the new version applies.
16. Contact Us
Questions about your privacy, or about your baby's data, go to privacy@goochiegoo.app. Anything else, hello@goochiegoo.app.
Postal mail reaches us at GoochieGoo LLC, being confirmed.
